Most remember Brittany Murphy in her role in “Clueless”, “8 Mile”, “Girl, Interrupted” and as the former girlfriend of Ashton Kutcher. Since “Clueless” is in heavy rotation in my DVD player (yeah, I said it…”Clueless” was a classic), that’s really the only movie I remember her in. I barely made it through “8 Mile” and Mrs. Bradd Pitt’s performance in “Girl, Interrupted” outshined everyone. But Brittany’s sudden death on December 20, 2009, shocked many. Although I wasn’t surprised because she always looked sickly to me, but it is still a tragic loss when they go that young. Her death has finally been ruled an accident. It appears the cause of her untimely passing was pneumonia, an iron deficiency and “multiple intoxication of drugs”. I don’t know if that’s the new way of saying “drug overdose” but that’s not what the officials are saying.
But on another note, the late actress widow, Simon Monjack, is planning to file a lawsuit against Warner Bros in connection with Brittany’s death. He claims that when they cancelled a contract for a voice role in the sequel to “Happy Feet” and a month before that firing her from a role in an upcoming independent thriller called “The Caller, this caused extreme stress which lead to her death. hhhmmmmmmm?? Of course Warner Bros is like “wtf?”
“Any claim that Warner Bros. Pictures was somehow responsible for Brittany Murphy’s tragic death is demonstrably false, reprehensible, and defamatory,” a Warner Bros representative
I hope Mr. Monjack lets this go.
